What is BrinkPad?
BrinkPad is a web application that brings a desktop experience to the web. The application allows you to create presentations / slide shows / drawings with easy to use web delivered software.
Where are my drawings saved ?
BrinkPad allows you to save and display your work on your own computer, provided you accept the signature dialog that appears when you launch the application.
In the future..
The goal is to allow you to be able to save, manage and publish your presentations and slide shows onto the web and allow others to view and edit it (if permissioned). This would make both your application and data available on any computer that supports the Java plugin (which is currently available for all the major platforms),
About BrinkPad
BrinkPad was created by Jaipal Parath, mostly during long train and subway commutes between Princeton and New York city.

What are signed applets?
The Java execution environment running inside your browser is limited in its ability to interact with your computer. This limitation or "sandbox", as it is commonly called, is a security mechanism to protect your computer from being exposed to malicious software.
Brinkpad requires you to relax some of the restrictions placed by the sandbox, specifically to provide the ability to do the following.
- Save your work on your computer
- Allow access to the clipboard so that you can copy and paste text and pictures from outside
- Allow the ability to connect to flickr so that you can access images there
